A nice morning ...

Well, despite waking up FREEZING this morning, things are going along nicely. Dear Hubby took the teen to middle school which was a great break for me. Then, I did the dishes and Mox and i went for a little walk to the playground up the road. There is a back way there through the next subdivision, but I thought we were going the wrong way so we turned around and went by the BIG road. He road his little trike. We got to the playground and saw a whole lotta interesting things. Ther was an older man flying a remote control airplane and there were three people practicing there parachuting. It was a little windy so they'd start the parachutes up into the wind and try to turn the chutes around and stuff. They stayed on the ground and had a coach guy to help them. It looked like hard work. But it was neat to watch. Mox played at the playground for awhile! That makes me really happy because then I feel like I am not letting him rot in front of the tv and video games all day. We walked home through the development found the right way this time and came on home to some yummmy fruit pops fro a snack for Mox.

We may even go to the library this afternoon.

Yesterday was a successful shopping day for Mudd. I think she had a good time, although she was lamenting the fact that her friends had no concept that they were spending quite a bit of money for a halloween costume. Almost 60 bucks when you added it all up. But, I am really glad that she seems to be hanging out with a nice group of gals and that she is starting to adjust to life in cali.

Dear hubby is back from his trip safe and sound ... which I am very thankful for. Just hope no overseas trips are in the works at his job. Poor hubby is tired from his travels, but he was very glad that he went and the birthday was a great surprise and success!

Hope to get him out to buy me some new furniture this weekend. maybe then we can get our house a little more settled.

Despite a cold and some ants in the house all and all am having a good day! Saw some cute halloween decorations in the next subdivision over, maybe inspired to try to get some outdoor decor going! Well, toodles for now socal trix

Looking for family fun ....

Hi ya'll ...

The hubby is out of town back in Florida to celebrate his mom's birthday.
Anyway so, I am here with the kids and am hoping to figure out something fun to do with them. Maybe we can go see the new open season movie or something. I'd rather try to fibnd them some outdoor activity, but I am not sure what that would be. I guess we could do the beach, but I'd have to check the weather. I am not really into freezing at the beach again.

I have been sewing a lot for Maddie's room. Her curtains are done. She and I are gonna take a stab at hanging the rods today. I probably won't hang the rod on the really tall window since I am afraid of the ladder. I have also been making pillows. I should take some pictures and post them!!! I really like the pillows. Now, she just needs to pick a paint color and her room is almost done!!! She is going to get a new comfrter and a bed skirt, too!

Soon, we will be purchasing some new furniture and I think that next week I'll get going on getting the driveway fixed. I am thinking about concrete with pavers on the sides so that you have a place to walk when you get out of the car. I'll have to ask the driveway guys if they can rip out the ugly junipers on the side.

The house is still a mess ... I'll have tio get back to my ebay endeavours soon!!! Not much else going on. I am anticipating plumbing problems this weekend because my hubby is away!

Need to go make a grocery list. Am trying to avoid going there everyday next week!!! Hugs ... So cal trix

Promised pic ...

Well, i am trying to post a pic that I promised to the papster ... don't know if it is here ...

If it is can you tell who is so cal trixie and who is her mom? Junior troop 42 Jubail Saudi Arabia circa 1981 ... Oh how funny is that ???

PASSED the Cali driver's test ....

Let me just say woo hoo ... It was really easy to get the license. The only problem was that I did not have my passport or marriage license sssoo, they wanted to give me my license in my maiden name. Well, that did not fly, so I had to go home and get the passport. I passed the written test, although there were a few moments of panic when DMV girl tried to correct my test with the wrong key and marked like the first four questions wrong. They were right and I only missed three questions, Dear D Hubby beat me ... he only missed one. I got the license plate for the car and my new photo cali driver's license looks GREAT! i am so glad that I actually did my hair cuz I look cute even with the gray roots coming out!!!

I also planted my four orange gerberia daisies which some may know are actually one of my favorite flowers. I need a few more to fill in the bed. I also made up my little container herb garden. The containers have nothing to do with pot or medical marijuana!! it is actually basil, dill and french thyme. One of the basil plants is purple.

Hey, we were all kinda cold last night and this morning when we woke up. We left the windows open and it got down to 52 last night. It woulda had to be like December before that would happen in florida. So this morning it was 66 inside the house. Now back in FLA, I woulda turned on the heat for sure. But, not here! It was a beautiful day with a really pleasant cool wind. Thought that the forecast for tomorrow said something like 92, but that can not possibly be right. I don't get the weather forecast around here, because I am not really sure if I should listen to what they say for the valley or for the beach. Maybe I just need to average the two? Anyone with a clue ... please help. I may have to stop watching the abc 7 weather anyway, because the weather guy wears like the WIERDEST suits ever and I can't figure out where I live so that is doubly confusing. I mean I miss the forecast cuz I call mud and we laugh at his outfits!!!

Not much else going on ... planning on church tomorrow. May actually show up there and not give God another rain check. It is so easy to skip because we feel like we have so much to do, but I need some grace in my life so I better haul my booty tio church and be a good girl!

Can't believe what I got in the coupon mailer ...

You know, I used to get the coupon mailers in florida, but I gotta say I never received any coupons like this! Wow, talk about being in a whole another state of mind ... And I just love the money back guarantee ... mary jane recommendation no need to pay. And no appointment is necessary ... So when the mood stricks me I can just walk right into the clinic and get my high on??? I guess they don't fund DARE programs out here, just a guess ...

In other fun news, our local high school had a bomb threat yesterday evening. Kids are already tired of going to school I guess ... They took it pretty seriously and last night, the middle school principal called us with a recorded message to explain what was going on. Much to popular rumor there were no bombs at the school.

I did have a lot of ash on my car yesterday from the "day" fire in Castaic. Hope those we know near there are ok. Safe and that the traffic issues have not effected them too much.

We are covered in marine layer today here and tomorrow is gonna be the coolest day since may. The weather is really nice here. Not too hot or humid.

Alright, enough for today ... I got a smog certificate to chase down ... a new dumpster to fill and if there is time maybe'll I go get evaluated for medical weed ... HA!HA! Just kinding ...

Ok how about a wierd song reference to end off this post ... my hubby and I were debating the release of Ozzy's No more tears song and according to google the album was released in 1991 when we were dating just like I said!!!!

Oh well ... gotta go smog certificate calling for me to find it fast ...

Job Hunting ...

Well, after much consideration ... I have decided to apply for a job that I am sure that I could do, but I probably will never get. It is an education job (community college), but I think that it may be a stretch for me to try to get it. I even e-mailed a bunch of people to ask them to be references for me. Hope that I hear back postive things from the people that I asked. I guess I just have to wait now.

Did a lot of stuff today, paid bills, grocery shopped, took both the kids back and forth to school. Did about two loads of laundry. Cooked dinner ... kids did not like the hot spicy tamales that I picked up at the store. Mox ended up eating a baloney sandwich and salad.

Not too bad of a Monday for me. I won't get into the whole 9/11 anniversary thing. I am sure that other people can be much more eloquent about it than I can.

Saw a very funny movie ... I recommend Medea's family reunion to one and all.

Not too much more to say today ... random song reference MC Hammer's Pray.

Boxes be gone ....

Well, we managed to bolt down quite a few bookcases today ... Of course, that is the royal we as I bolted down nothing and my cute handi man husband did most of the really hard work. But I am happy to say that about 20 boxes got unloaded and it is time to order the ole dumpster again. Seein' as the garage (gaa ray ge) is now full o boxes again!!!!

Unpacked one of the boxes from the ole moosehead homestead today. Those are the extra ones that came via fed ex becuz the 'rents are gonna move. It is so wierd to look at things that are from high school becuase in a way it seems like it was just yesterday. Oh dear hubby sang that ole beetles song to me too. How romantic ... Anyway(z), it is hard to think that people you were so close to just aren't a part of your life anymore. How do friends grow so far apart? At least, there are still a few who really really keep in touch and I gotta say i love them so much. It seems like if we were to get together the conversation would not stop at all.

Oh I wax sentimental now and should really be sleepin. We gotta go hang at the church zavftra. (tomorrow pa russkiii)

BTW, Mudd, Mox and I had a wonderful time at the Chomp and Stomp. I gotta say I really love the new gang that we are hangin' with. Jusy hope they don't turn PSYCHO!!!! Just kidding!!! They already told me that if I get a bad reputation I'll have to move to a new town ... I really caint stand moving again!!!!

Well, not much else to say today ... gotta go to bed and sleep until tomorrow and 20 more boxes to unload. Our hotel will be open for visitors before you know it ...

That means some folks may just have to find some vacation time cuz Cali is beautiful part o' the country!!!!

Hugs to my loyal fans ... you know who are ... So Cal Trixie not Floriduh! (that is Mudd's new nick name)

PS She re arranged her room and it looks great ... now if I could just dry wall that hole and don't even get me started about the leak in the tub in the upstairs bath. Kids may get a new bathroom before us now!!! That is so crummy ....

Random song reference .... oops already made the beetles one ... How about Don;t Worry be happy ...

Two posts in one day ...

Ok, back now ... Super Mommy to the rescue ... Guess I still can't go back to work ... DARN!

Anyway, I was gonna rant about our girl Paris ... but, now I'm on to something else ...

Aren't the roses from my yard just gorgeous ... Here is the kicker ... the picture doesn't even show the most beautiful one. I awoke the other morning find the most beautiful lavender rose. And the really cool thing is that there are about 8 bushes by the house and I already know how to take care of them. Thanks Dad! I have another lavender one on the bush outside, but I didn't cut it off to bring inside b/c the stem was too short on it, but I do have two red ones in the vase in the kitchen right now!

The other pic is an outer space b-day for Mox. He asked for two cakes. One sun and one saturn. Not sure that you can see Mox and my handiwork in the pic so well, but let's just say that making a sun cake to scale took some creativity on my part. He had such a great time decorating the sun and squeezing the cake goop that he says he'll make his own cakes for his birthday when he is a grown up. Although, he is convinced that he will need some one to read for him. I sure hope not.

Ok here's a shout out to ole Gles. He sent me a cute e-mail today ... remembering back in the day. Seeing, that "back in the day", is now my favorite saying to Muddie the gist of the e-mail kinda struck a cord with moi! Maybe you were lucky enough to get it too! Bonus for you ...

Not much else ... crimpin and electrical should be done today! Already told Dear D, hubby, that he will have to work hard boltin' down the book shelves this weekend. Need to go order some closet organizers for the scattered teen. I must be really crazy, cuz I cleaned her room yesterdAY!!! And I didn't snoop at all! Just folded up the nest of clothes and actrually found the dirty ones! Bought her a hamper, hope that helps with the laundry sitch!

Gotta go listen to the new Dixie chicks song ... check them out on Amazon.com with Bill Maher. Very good interview.

Hugs, will try to do better posting ... still having trouble with local phone utility ... they are the black hole of bad service ....

SO CAL Trixie

Too long without POSTS!

Golly, it has been awhile. And I hear through the grape vine that my loyal readers are missing me! What a compliant (oops) I am sure that I mean compliment, but I caint spell worth beans and Bill Gates and spell check have just made it worse.

What the heck is up here ... everything! We celebrated two birthdays in the last couple a weeks. Mox still enjoys his, I'd rather ignore mine. For some, dumb reason, I get really sad on that day and feel as though I have to take stock of life goals then. It is really a stupid way to be, because if I would stop stressing about dumb goals I set 20 years ago, then I would see that my life is so much better than I coulda ever imagined! But, enough about me and my birthday philosophies ... I guess it just boils down to I don't wanna count'em anymore and I just want to stay young, because I feel better about myself at almost 40 than I ever could at say ... 21 or 26?

Speaking of 26, our friend P Hilton was arrested for suspension of dui ...

Oops gotta go rescue a teen w/o 'betes supplies ... write more later fans!!!

Hugs ... so brain dead so cal trixie

Got DSL ...

Well, after many snafus and too many headaches to even complain about, the fam now has dsl once again. Still a few issues to sort out like ... where is the ding dang wi fi router etc. etc. but all is well. I just got a confirm that it actually is sending e-mail and receiving e-mail. IT girlie super hero of computer at our house has foiled evil once again!!!

Things are good here, had a quiet day of bill paying (YUCK!), watering the lawn/playing in the sprinkler and hanging with the neighbors again. Can't really complain, although Muddie is driving nuts about when she can have the 'puter back. I really wonder how the heck I survived all those summers w/o a computer and no satelite TV when I was her age. She went out roller blading and came back saying
" I need some friends." I hope all goes well with her when she gets into school. I am finding that Miss E and her boys are very good companions for me and Mox and even Mudd too. I have corrupted her children by introducing them to VIDEOGAMES today!!!!

Weekend is coming. Table is supposed to arrive tomorrow. Am waiting for a call from the delivery driver to let me know when. Will probably talk to the 'rents in MD and maybe FLA too. Making strides in getting settled ... although the boxes do seem to be winning the war here. Both my friends at FEDex and UPS visited me today. What a banner day for us!!!! IT girlie is winning!!!! Yahoo.

Later tatters, socal trixie

Wait, obscure song reference .... can't think of any, how lame is that??? On the backside of thirty??? That was actually a pretty funny song ... and pretty obscure to non country fans? Can you name the artist? I can ... I'll get me it on itunes ...

A day at the BEACH!!!!

Wow, the pacific ocean is COLD!!!
You taint in Florida anymo' little trixie!!!
No mo hot water and no mo sharkies!!!

We had a great time at the beach today with the nice new neighbors! I follwed Miss E. to the beach and drove on the windy ole protrero road again. And I survived, I didn't even drive down off the side of the mountain!!! Mox and E's sons' had a great time in the sand! Beach was only like 30 minutes away, which is much cooler than Central FLA and an hour trip to the beach. Mudd wants to learn to surf and body boards are high on the list of must purchase items. Ask Muddie, about her expereince with the lifeguard, if you talk to her soon!8-) She must really have the cute ole .... cuz, she was clearly not drowning!!! Anyway, it was totally like a Baywatch moment!!!! Ahh, only in Cali ...

MUCH FUN WAS HAD BY ALL ... kids were good. None used the hate word and Mox only said his sister was mean, when she refused to bury him in the sand. I am a little sunburned on the face, but I'll be tan sexy momma tomorrow.

Oh BTW, listened to the GPS on the way home and she tooks us home via a look at little place in Oxnard called Yolanda's ... many a fond family memory there!!!! And still there 20 some years later ...

Hugs to all ... must check out the dinner sitch... don't wanna feed the dear hubby dry salmon again!!!

So cold ocean water cal trixie

Here is the song reference "wish they all could be california girls ..."

No job for me ....

Job I applied for is, thankfully, filled. Not so sad about that, although I think I would enjoy being a high school librarian. I guess I sort of have my heart set on the phd thing at ucla. But, I could wait until Mud is done with college to go for that. So maybe the best bet for me is to try to get the teaching credential ... I need to think on this one.

Not sure I want to jump through all the California hoops to do that job though.

Not much going on here today. No big plans. Think I'll stay away from stores with my children. But, I do need a trash can for the downstairs bath.

Got some laundry going and will probably try to clean the house some. Seems rather useless b/c there are boxes every where. I did unpack a few more last night.

Last night, I spent a few hours trying to install software for hubby to use here at home for his working. But, they gave us a copy that is already registered and activated, so very helpful. Software is installed but he caint use it, b/c the copy they gave him is now ILLEGAL!!!! I guess he won't be working from home anytime soon ... He is pulling a late night, Ahh back to the old grind for him. I feel bad that he has to work so much.

Before that, the kids and I were in the atrium picking up rocks and putting in a bucket, so that we could re arrange the paving stones that where back there. It was actually kind of fun for me! Although some family members complained a lot. It will be nice to have a nice area to look at from our new table.

Well, I think I'll go check on Mox, he hasn't breakfast eaten, yet.

So glad that my readers are enjoying this, lil slice o' my life ...Hugs to you readers!!!

When does school start?

Got Mox registered for pre-school today! I actually applied for a temporary job as a high school librarian at a private school in thousand oaks. It is a two to four month job. I think that the job may already be filled though. I hope ...

Was successful in purchasing 8th grade school supplies at the drug store. Not really thrilled about how children act together, when I am out shopping with them. It seems that Muddie just really wants to be mean to her brother sometimes. She told the lad that he looked like a clown cuz his feets are so dern big! Like he can really help that! Plus, she is justed all wrapped up in being miserable. She wrote on the fridge with magnetic poetry letters that "school is mean death." I changed it to school is happy fun. She got mad and changed it back. I really am getting sick of the attitude. I don't like all the angst and negativity and she looks down right miserable all the time. I have half a mind to send her to some under developed nation, war zone or something so that she can see what a life that sucks really is!!!! Wow, we really need to be postive and count our blessings!

I feel terrible, I would just love to cherish every moment with the kids and be suzi sunshine happy mom, but they are really just drivin' me bonkers!!!! Starting 9-6 I will get 9 hours of peace to myself every week!!!! It is a terrible thing to say, but I honestly can not WAIT!!! I really hope that she finds some friends, but if she walks around looking miserable all the time, I am sure she will juwst be a friend magnetic! Oh well, I am sure that once school starts things will get better for everyone.

Not much else, need to chase down some dinner.
Hugs, Trixie ... just plain ole' trixie today. Oh and no references to bad songs either. Althoug I did buy Janis Joplins Mercedes Benz song on itunes!

Not much else, really need to study for California driver's test, I guess I'll do that when kids stop fighting!!!

Monday, August 14, 2006

I'm tarred today!!!

Or I am tired, if you are not from SW pa.

I guess stayin' up til all hours o' the night to watch silly high school movies, like my all time favorite "Pretty in Pink" on direct TV
and
getting woken up by silly s.i.l. at 7am doesn't really help a girl too much. But, silly s.i.l. did have good news about buns in the oven!!! So I can't be too upset, just tarred! Plus, you know those east coast people really think there is just one time zone in the us ... their time zone right??? I am so socal now!!! B/c I am tarred!!

Anyways (as Mudd would say), I think that I found Mox a pre-kindergarten class. Went to Methodist church in Newbury park and found it very much unlike ECC at Methodist church in ole' chicken downtown town (Oviedo). The pre-school was at a church and yet, they did no churchy things like prayin or anything like that. Chapel sometimes not vary often. Oh ok, hmm, guess preschool in the south is different than in so Cal. Really, what do people expect. I want to send my child to a religious pre-school so I look at one at a church. I guess it is wrong of me to assume that a church preschool would do church things!!! So on the way back, I stopped by the community center that is right across the ding dang street and met the nicest pre-school teacher ever. In socal that is. No one could ever bet, MIZ Dawn and Miss Connie!!!! So, not only does it sound better b/c it is cheaper, they are also a pre-k, so Mox would learn letters, sounds, to write etc. and the teacher is SUPER!!! I think that dear husband is all on board and pre-school is a GO! Green light preschool. Yippee!!!! We need to decide how many days ... I'd love three afternoons from 1 til 4!!! And the only snafu will be Mox's florida shot record, although ... I have already requested that online from our old dynamite peds practice!

So despite being tarred, it looks like I may have 3 child free afternoons starting on 9/6 and going until the middle of DEcember!!!! Whoo who! Guess I'll be selling on ebay and finding a job or school or something real soon!

Next item on to do list ... get a california driver's license. And pass the written test ... my gosh, I have been driving around here and they should give some of the California driver's the road test again, b/c they caint drive worth beans!!!! Oh well, drove the 101 today and survived and arrived alive, so it was a banner day for me!!!

Toodles, Hugs to all the ones I've loved ... Oh Julio Iglesia references, now that is bad ... need to go find that one on itunes just to laugh! bye y'all!

Makin' Progress

We bought a dining room table today and eight chairs!!! No more plastic lawn chairs at my holiday dinners. I wanted to get eh hutch, but we passed it up this time. I think we will see how the table and chairs fit and may be revisit the hutch later in life. Check out popsfurniture.com We got the rustic mexican type o table. Very sturdy and solid. It is definitely the chairs that make them the money though!!!

Went to St.Pat's episcopal church today, too. It was very nice. I think that we have found our west coast church home. I know that we will all have a soft spot in our hearts for good ole' St.Peter's, but I think that St.Pat's will do us well. Everyone was super nice there. And they seem to be very good anglican episcopalians!!! Which we conservative southerners really like!!!

What else, oh, my parents bought their new home in the state o various vowels just add an h and you like figure it out. Contrary to popular belief, the are NOT moving to stupidville. Haven't really thought too much about the sale of the ole Moosehead homestead. I am sure that I will be sad when the md sale goes through, but mostly I am really happy for them. I think it will be a good change for everyone. Toby doggy may not dig his new pool too much, but who knows, he may learn to swim yet!!!

Everything is going really well right now. We are still in boxes, but I guess that is too be expected. Couple more weeks and school will start.

Hey here's something wierd ... these Cali people think that all of florida is like one giant beach!!! Some girl at church said to Mudd "oh, you are sooo tan, becuz you are from florida!" And that pharmassist (sp, iknow), said oh your from orlando, florida, you are from the beach. I was like no not really. Hmm, guess they don't teach too much us geography out here. Oh well, I guess when you are from California, there is just not a whole lot more to think aout than California!!! Anyway, I like it don't get me wrong, it just is not like florida or like my ole chicken downtown either!!!

Looking at a preschool tomorrow, prolley a no, though. Looking for a dumpster to order and gotta find out where the heck my other mail is!!! That should be a fun to do!

Mox says all that is on the tv is scooby doo ... best go rescue the lad and check on the vittels! Ah see, born a northerner, made a southerner by the grace o' god!! Oh lord won't you buy me a mercedes benz!!! Qoutin ole country songs better go quick and spare ya all!!!!

Toodles, so cal .... bag o trixie!!!

Thursday, August 10, 2006

Gosh, what a day for air travellers today. Hope that everyone who needs to travel makes it safely to their destination without too many headaches. Boy am I glad my flight was last week. I had enough trouble with oversold airlines that don't give three year olds seats and Dan the airline guy who thought it was funny to berate me over the pa system. I prolley would end up in a straight jacket or a cell if I had to stand in a four hour security line with a three year old and a thirteen year old. And they woulda taken away my starbucks to boot!

Anyway, we headed up to Camarillo today to check out the new ped doc. She was really good. We got our referral to the specialist no problem. I was supposed to fax a confirmation of doc change to the office, but of course there were some snafus with the doctor change. The brillant people at our new health care have decided that subscribers may only change docs on the first of each month. Why? Apparently, they are paying the docs and medical groups even if we are not using their services. Don't ask me, I am as confused as you are. Becuz, Mudd saw the doc this morning and could not really technically see her until 9-1, I needed the help of a very nice cs rep. She came through for me like a charm and backed dated Muddie's doc change to 8-1. So today's visit will be covered. Only problem, i didn't fax anyhting to the doctor's office, so I'll prolley be on the list with them.

But the good news is that I now have phone service and directtv, so things are moving along. To do list is way long and teen age daughter is ticked that life is so dern dull. Poor mom gets stressed out tryin to find new places, makes her wash the car and never follows through with the fun stuff that teen wants! Oh the drama, let me just say I can't wait til school starts. Did get that info today, so there is another one off the to do list!!! Now just have to make many trips back and forth there to be sure I give them everything they need. And the medical issue may be quite puzzling for them. Boy do I miss Seminole County schools, they really had their act together. What is the saying ... you don't know what you got till its gone, they paved paradise ...

Oops, had a whole lot more stuff on here ... but it just got erased b/c the computer doesn't allow pop ups to spell check my posts!! On that happy note, I'll go rescue my boy from the fairly odd parents, junk show!!! Toodles, so cal trix

Tuesday, August 08, 2006

Well, stress just abounded yesterday!!! Is that even a word? Anway, today is a new day ... as predicted the fuse is not right! Oh well, I tried right? Will fix that another day!!! Yesterday, was a list of what I did not like, how a list about what I like today ..

  • the view of the mountains from Muddie's room
  • having my nuclear family back together again
  • Albertson's grocery store
  • free internet from some new neighbor - thank you
  • taking a day off of all the TO DOs on my list
  • a 3 year old who sleeps in
  • my new neighbors who give me fresh plums - thanks Lisa and Rich
  • my beautiful helpful and smart teen aged daughter
  • "my best friend" M.V. who seems to have telepathy and e-mails me with words of encouragement just when I need them the most
  • the possibility of a new day without as much stress as yesterday 8-)

Wow, I could just go on and on. I need to try to figure out how to post some pictures on here next time and I will show you the view of the mountains!!! Here's to a good day for all!

Luv to all, So cal trixie

Back in Cali!!!

Ok, haven't posted for a few days, but now am back in Cali. Like it, not liking ...

  • not knowin' where anything is
  • life in boxes

Had an adventure to Autozone today. I need a fuse for my car b/c the power windows don't work.

Have you ever tried to purchase a fuse? First, I was sittin' in the parkin lot, lookin in the fuse box and little Mox almost got run over by Buffy goin to get her nails like done!!!

Then the chick (yes chick, I too was shocked) in the autozone sold me a fuse that clearly is not the right one. Then I can't get the old flippin fuse out of the car at all to bring it inside to get some real help. So finally, I just decide to spend $20 on the whole box o' various fuses and let hubby install the ding dang thing later. Now. I'm just waitin' to hear that the whole darn box is wrong and the part needs to be ordered from Honda now!!!

Still eatin Japanese just like in florida, no table for us yet. The old tv trays are just not cuttin it. Came down stairs this morning to choco milk all over the tray and the floor. After lunch, when the jelly from the peanut butter and jelly sandwich joined the chocomilk from breakfast on the floor, I decided it was time to teach Mox how to clean the floor. This is like all good mother son lessons, I taught him how to watch me clean up. He'll definitely need a wife or a maid one day!!!

Well, I am really hungry and there is a Bourbon steak Healthy choice meal calling my name form the kitchen. So I think I'll go get it in my belly!!! Toodles for now, socal trix

My first post ...

WEll, this is my first forray into the bloggosphere!!!

Tonight, I am writing from a lovely Hilton brand hotel in beautiful Uniontown, PA.
No Paris sitings here though!!!
Don't think she frequents coal mine keystone states!

Today, my 13 year old daughter, Muddie and I, discovered the thrill of shopping at GABES.
She couldn't remember ever having been to Gabes, although most south-western PA type folks know exactly what I am talking about and Muddie was quite thrilled with her hawl!!!

For the other non-south western pa types, Gabes, aka Gabrielle Brother's is a large off price discount store. (Kinda like Bealls in Florida (our other favorite off price store)) Muddie got some cool new clothes for cheap and I got a hot momma outfit, too. Hopefully, her southwestern pa off price clothes will go in the so-CALI suburbs when she starts at the middle school named after a TREE!

We are visitin' my grandparents Ween and Boydie. They are good, we have a few more days on the East Coast and then we are back to southern California and the work of unpackin' the ding dang new house!!!

Our trip has been a whirl wind of Activities. Mox, Mud and I reconnected with a lot of the fam' that we had not seen in ages! Gles had a great great 80th b-day party with an open bar and he even drank a 'rita with the Best boys!!! A good good time was had by all!!! And the food was good too!

I made some lovely crab cakes from Maryland blue crab pickings from the other nights crab feast fest! Maybe I'll share the recipe in another post!!!

How dat for the first blog post? What would a blog post look like anyways - oops, anyways is not a word!!! Toodles, So Cal ... Trixie
