Wednesday Wednesday ....

Not much going on here ...

Max had school today and he was glad. He wore the mohawk today. He likes it! It loosk really cute on him. We are making plant boxes for his Pre-K teachers and we stamped paint on them today. I think that we'll plant the flowers tomorrow and we can deliver them on Friday. He stamped "Thank you for helping me grow!" I was going to buy herbs for the boxes, but he decided he wanted flowers instead, so he picked out some pretty ones. I think it will turn out cute and I think they will like them! He only has Friday, Monday and next Wednesday left of school and then it is summer for him!!!

Tomorrow is the film fest for Maddie's Journalism class. Max and I will attend. I think it should be fun. Maddie is making seven layer dip for a snack! FUN! I hope that Max will behave.

What else, not much .... chatted it up with my cool neighbor for awhile this afternoon. Not much else, gonna watch "so you think you can dance tonight"

Gotta put the laundry away. All seems very good ... Hugs and kisses, So Cal Trixie

Haven't blogged for a few ...

Here's what's up ...

Today is all about dinners and food for the week. Sold a bunch of stuff on Ebay! Got it all shipped out easily. Need to start round two of ebay sales on Friday while Max is at school, so that means that tomorrow is .... CLEAN THE WHOLE HOUSE DAY!!!

Sunday, Sunday ...

Privet ...

Not too much going on today. Yesterday was an exciting day though. Max had soccer. We videotaped him and used the tape for training purposes. His Dad and I kept saying "why are you so far away from the ball?" and Max said "I'll let my friends have the ball." He is such a nice boy. We came home and had lunch and then Don and I headed out for a marathon shopping session at the Camarillo premium outlets. Mr. B did really well. He really needed clothes. I got a few things too. I found my slip-on tennies that I had been wanting. A couple of nice Izod sweaters and some Polo pants. Being the well schooled Grandma Clarice shopper that I am , I printed out my free VIP coupons before our adventure and we saved a bunch! Don hates shopping, but after 5 hours, I think we found him some stuff to last quite a while! Maddie and Max hung out together the whole time and skipped out on the shopping fun!

We are just doing little house chores today. I still need to plant my marigolds form the other day, but I am waiting for the "May Gray" to go away. So far it is just cloudy and the sun is MIA. It really looks like it should rain, but it hasn't. Made some heart healthy potato salad for our hamburgers tonight. Hope it tastes good. What else, not much. All is good and for that I am thankful!

Day 2 - May Gray

Back again!!!

Today is gloomy again ... apparently, in southern california there is May gray and June Gloom.

Today is May Gray.

I guess the marine layer comes into the valleys and hangs around until afternoon, then the sun finally burns it away. At night it is still quite cool, I think it was down in the 50s again and we all woke up chilly this morning. The weather will turn out nice in the afternoon. It stays cool and not humid at all. If you are standing in the shade and the wind is blowing breezy, sometimes it feels a little chilly even.

Yesterday turned out well, teen tude stayed away! 8-)

I took Muddie, Sushi Princeess, and her friend to lunch after I dropped Mox at preschool. We had a nice time. They were both socialable and we had a nice talk about Mudd's testing and high school sports. Mudd's friend, S., will do cross country and track at NPHS. S. has competed in Junior Olympics on the national level. Mudd is still thinking about trying to do a different sport each season. I am really trying to convince her to stick to swimming and join the Conejo Simi aquatics team. She says no. She would rather try to catch up with everyone who is expereinced in two sports she has never even played before. Oh well, we will see what happens. Volleyball is one of the sports that she is considering, so I tried to get her to join a summer league at the teen center to get some practice, but she says no. She doesn't want to be on a team at the teen center this summer. And yet she wants to try out for the high school team? I am thinking that there a a flaw in her thinking about this one, but I'll let her make her own decisions. Especially since, I would have to drive her to the games and practices if she joined the teen center team.

Mox had school yesterday. He had a good day. We hung out with some other Moms at the playground for 45 minutes after school. Then we came home and the kids played outside in the driveway while I cooked dinner. Mox is trying to learn how to skateboard. He's played the Tony Hawk's skateboard videogame. Being an observant lad, he told his Dad "Those skaters in the videogame are really bad! They don't wear a helmet and they get lots of blood. That is so bad!" He looks really cute with all the pads and helmet and all. I'll try to post a pic of him soon. Needless to say, by the time bedtime rolled around, he had the red sleepy rims on his eyes. But he did not fall asleep before his Dad got to read the stories. They have such fun being silly at bedtime!

I have a little laundry on the agenda today, a trip to the pharmacy and maybe some gardening. Dear hubby has helped me to see the potential of marigolds (I used to hate them.) So Mox and I may plant some in the back. Then we could see them from the kitchen window. I would also like to pick up some more gerbera daisies for the front. Why is it that when you follow the planting instructions on the pots they never fill in? You know space 20 feet apart etc. etc. Really .. if you plant the stuff so far apart, then it looks really raggedy.

Anyway, we'll see how much we get done! Well, must go ... toodles, trix.

Long time no BLOG

Hello Trixie fans...

Well I have not blogged on here for a while, so first off ... sorry.

I am happy to report that ...we are unpacked and settled in nicely ! Still a few hings to do, but for the most part all is now settled in the Cali home.

Only 4 WEEKS more of school ...
The end of the school year approaches rapidly for Mudd and Mox. Both of them have graduation ceremonies, for 8th grade and pre-k. Poor hubby has gotta take off multiple days so that he can celebrate these grand achievements!!!

Soccer Monster ...

Mox's soccer season is almost over. One more game on Saturday and then, what is sure to be his favorite part of the season ... TROPHIES and PIZZA PARTY!!!! Even though, we miss our coach from last year quite a lot, this season has been a good one. Two goals scored by Mox to date and his mom and dad are learning that a four year old does not have to be a world cup soccer star. I think we have mellowed as far as our expectations for him. He still runs after the pack and kind of waits for he ball to pop out of the swarm of kids, but I know that I wouldn't want to be in there getting all kicked up. We still wonder about his lack of focus on the ball at all times, but he seems to be pretty much the same as his peers, who sometimes engage in grass picking, soining coach tackling, mining for nose gooblins and various other non-soccer realted pursuits while on the field!!

Not much else today ...

it is overcast and gloomy right now and was spitting on the drive to Mudd's school. She has her cali state standard's tests this week, so she leavees at 12;35 today. may be we'll grab some lunch together? Well have to see how the teen tude is playing out this afternoon ....
